Information and tips for optimal candle burning and wax melting

When lighting your candle for the first time, there are two things that are of the utmost importance:

1. Make sure that when you're lighting the candle, you let the flame crawl across the entirety of the wick. You might need to tilt the candle a little bit to make sure that this happens.

2. Make sure to burn the candle until you reach a full melt pool — that is, until the melted wax has reached the edges of the vessel or container. This will take approximately 3 hours for our full sized candles, 1 hour for our mini candles, and 1 hour for our votive candles. Candles have memory and if you don’t burn to a full melt pool in your first burn, the candle can possibly “tunnel,” which means it will burn down instead of out and down.

If you're burning votive candles, ALWAYS make sure to burn inside a candle-safe container and remove the sticker tag before lighting.

When heating up your wax melts, place your burner on a level surface, away from any drafts. We recommend burning five wax melt pieces at a time, depending on the size of your burner.

Always make sure to trim your wick to ¼ inch before each burn as well for optimal burn time. Your 8 oz candle has an estimated burn time of 40 to 50 hours, your mini candle has an estimated burn time of 10 to 14 hours, each individual votive candle has an estimated burn time of 8 to 10 hours, and each set of five wax melts has an estimated fragrance enjoyment time of 8 to 10 hours.

Since our candles and wax melts have been individually crafted out of natural, non-toxic ingredients, some slight discoloration, bubbles and bumps might occur, which is natural and nothing to worry about. The goods themselves and their cozy scents will not be affected in any way.
